i voted!

unlike other people who chose not to vote, i eagerly did.

its a chance to use my right. i mean everyone stampedes towards free nail arts right? so why not be much more excited to vote. i say, sayang ung boto. even if i fear gma might turn things against the opposition, at least i have the right to say i’ve been stolen from. i mean everyone complains how the country is and how much everyone wants to leave the country coz of the current situation but when given the chance to voice it out, you recede? ironic.

basta ako, i’m proud i voted, i even asked the poll watcher to put more indelible ink at my point finger so i can brag longer that i voted hihi

‘07 elections

i said to myself i wouldn’t be bothered by this election since i plan on leaving the PH as soon as possible.. but still i am. not because some of my college classmates might lose their jobs (coz their senator bosses might lose) but because i think, if i wasn’t a programmer and pursued another career path as per my BA degree, i might have been one of them, fighting and still believing that something can be done. but i am hopeless and fearful that once again our efforts to exercise our rights might be, even worse, will just be thrown out the door..

i look at my hometown and i am dismayed. believe me i am very much aware way back in elementary of the situation in Malolos. My dad is a public servant and luckily he is not in the bottom of the pyramid. we lived a meek life and early on i knew how hard life is. although back then i thought being in the service was a very fulfilling and decent job. i took up public administration. in UP, where you thought most people were poor, truth is most of my classmates were sons, daughters of traditional politicians, relatives of sultans, herederos. you begin to see who is allowed and given the chance to serve. and i knew i was not one of them. i remember our lectures and debates of public service, sustainable development, constitutional law. everyone had an idea, everyone thought they could help out change the system. i even remember one of my professor, chain-smoker saguil, one of the best profs coz he knew how to wake up a rizal or a bonifacio in you, told us, that if anyone of us will work abroad, they’d better not show their faces ever at pub ad. he thinks we have a choice but we don’t, atleast not a fair one.

as for my hometown, it’s full of bullsh*t.you have to choose between the evil and the less evil. our previous legislator was not even heard in any session but you sure can hear his son’s xtrails and f150s burning gas. i heard they don’t have any other means of leaving except of course the pork barrel. and now since he has consumed 3 consecutive terms, his wife is running for congress and he is running for vice governor. how obvious is that? i pray so hard that somehow another trapo’s son wins. why? because our ex-cong impeded the declaration of malolos cityhood, why? that’s millions less his pork barrel.

anyway, it cheered me up how the GO senators are faring this election. i prayed that atleast 6 win but heck! 8 might win! hmmm, is part of mindanao included here already? f*ck off garci!
